Paddington Bear by Gabrielle Designs - Vintage Original

A classic vintage Paddington Bear by Gabrielle Designs Ltd., the original and most sought-after maker of the iconic plush. This is an earlier-style bear dressed in the less common green duffle coat with wooden toggle fastenings, red felt hat, and red Wellington boots - a color combination from Paddington's earlier years before the familiar blue hat and red coat became standard. Approximately 19 inches tall.

The original Gabrielle Designs care booklet is included, along with the original "Darkest Peru to London, England via Paddington" luggage tag with the handwritten "Please look after this bear" message on the reverse. The face features the characteristic orange glass eyes and black molded nose of the Gabrielle bears.

Condition shows wear consistent with age - the red felt hat has some fraying at the edges and a safety pin holding it in place, and there is light soiling to the coat and hat. The fur, eyes, boots, and toggles all appear intact.
